Baron and
Sissy
Baron
Castle-Bar Royal Red Baron, or just plain
“Baron”, as we know him, is our soon to be 16 year
old Norwich Terrier. As with all dog lovers you think your dog
is the sweetest, cutest, smartest and most lovable pup on earth.
Well, ours happens to be just that! Since he became part of our
family so long ago when we acquired him from a breeder in the
state of Washington and he was only 12 weeks old, he has been
a faithful. Funny, and loving friend to our whole family. Where
cats love you on their own schedual, dogs, especially our Baron,
provides love on 24 hour availability. He is always available
for hugs and kisses when you need them most.
Norwich
Terriers are one of only a few terrier breeds recommended by the
AKC for families with children. Calm and patient, Norwich Terriers
don’t posses the usual chip on the shoulder attitude of
most terrier breeds. Instead, they show a huge desire to give
love and please their families.
Dr.
Dahlem and Dr. Horn have been taking care of Baron since he was
a puppy and we thank them both for the gentle and knowledgeable
care they have always provided. Like most older “folks”,
things start to wear out with the passage of time and Baron is
no exception. He has had two ACL knee surgeries within the past
18 months. Dr. Dahlem’s skill as a surgeon has kept Baron
going in his golden years.
I
don’t like to admit it, but Dr. Dahlem has been taking care
of my family pets for over 35 years, and I hope he and Dr. Horn
are here for many more to come to look after all our “fuzzy”
kids.
Sissy
Hi!
My name is Sissy. No I am not a “fraidy cat”! I was
named after one of the wonderful and famous “Steif”
German stuffed animal toys because of how much we look alike.
I share a home with 3 people, a dog, and a rabbit. I get along
fine with all of them, but thank goodness the rabbit sleeps outside.
It’s hard enough getting all the attention I want and deserve
without having to share my space with a rabbit too.
I
spend all of my time in the house. Therefore my favorite things
are sleeping, watching birds, sleeping, having my nose rubbed,
sleeping, laying in the sun , and of course, sleeping. The humans
that I live with are okay. I even think I love them, at least
that’s what they think when I talk to them.
I
have a medical problem in that my kidney’s don’t work
well anymore. I was very close to dying when my humans took me
to Dr. Horn for his medical as well as loving and caring attention.
He got me through my initial problem. However, now my humans have
to take extra special care of me. I have to eat special food and
they even have to give me an IV of Lactate Ringers practically
every day. I try to be good, even when it hurts. I have placed
myself above the usual biting, scratching and hissing and sit
quietly for the treatments. Since I am so good about it I think
it gets me more attention whenever I want it.
I
have to admit, it was a lucky day when Katie, my human girl, picked
me to adopt over my brothers and sisters.
