Brotherly Sisterly Luv
Voodoo and Suki were born 7-8-02. They had a sister and a brother
born first. Then Suki, born breech but without complications.
Mother, and daughter knew exactly what to do. By midnight we had
three healthy kittens...all who looked just like their Mama, (an
Abyssinian.) Then the arrival of Voodoo. Born lifeless, I thought
he was a goner. His mother seemed to be very tired, and wasn't
putting in to much effort to bring him around. But I wasn't going
to give-up to soon. I picked-up his little wet body, and noticed
little bubbles coming from his nose. I grabbed the infant nasal
suction and cleared the liquid from his nose and mouth. He began
to move so I passed him back to his Mother who then took over. For
the next hour I watch over the little buggers...wanting for Voodoo
to dry, but to my surprise he remained black as night. For the
next several weeks we watched them grow. Different then the other
three, we noticed Voodoo was always on his own schedule. Sleeping
when they were playing, eating when the other three were sleeping.
He was "The Black Sheep" of the family. As for Suki...she
was the runt, the "Mother Runt" taking care of her sister
and two brothers. She was a little daring "Miss Busybody."
Even now Suki still loves to groom her brother Voodoo, who I might
add is still finding trouble were trouble is to be found, hanging-out
doing his own thing. . But, he has Suki to clean-up after him,
at least for now...
