Charlie

Charlie

Most of you know Charlie, some have even had him sit in your lap in our reception area. But how many of you know the real story of Charlie?

Charlie, a two-year-old male neutered tabby cat was found in Mira Loma being savagely attacked by dogs. Tiffany, our receptionist at the time, brought him in. He had severe liver damage and a broken hip (femur). With patience, time, surgery, and some praying, we brought Charlie back from the brink. He then mended and proceeded to take over the hospital, claiming every room his. Of course, Charlie didn’t learn his lesson and stay away from dogs, nope he still would trot right up to every dog, play with their tails, sniff their rears, and almost got eaten a time or two.

Then one day, Charlie found a home, where he was loved. But Charlie, was well…Charlie, and couldn’t just enjoy his loving home. He kept escaping and…yes you guessed it, ran into another dog from which he couldn’t escape. Luckily, this time his injuries weren’t quite as severe. But his new owners knew that this would keep happening, as there were just too many open doors, so he came back to live with us at Orange Villa again. After a couple more surgeries, Charlie was as good as new (or as good as Charlie gets at any rate) and he was once again boss of the reception room.

He’s still getting into dogs’ faces-he still hasn’t learned his lesson, and enjoys sitting on kind people’s laps. Sometimes he enjoys it so much he gets ornery about being forced to leave.

We all love Charlie dearly, but we think that Charlie needs to find a loving home. He’s getting a little stir crazy and needs more room to romp. He loves dogs in spite of his bad experiences and loves laps. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Charlie please let us know. Of course, you will need to make sure that he can’t get outside…as he is sure to get into mischief again.
