Morgan and Squirt Williams

Morgan and Squirt Williams

Morgan was abandoned in a Santa Ana parking lot in 1984. She was only three months old, but even then, she knew how to handle things. The charm was turned on to the hilt, and we couldn’t resist. Of course, being a Calico with a black patch over one eye did help us to fall in love, and so we named her after Morgan the Pirate. She soon proved to be as tough as her namesake when she challenged the neighborhood bully. We looked out the window just in time to see our baby stand nose-to-nose with the big tomcat. He was ready for battle. And so was she, and she wouldn’t back off. After a few seconds, he turned and walked off. We never saw him again. Sure, she’s stubborn, opinionated, and bossy, but it’s all wrapped up in a lovable package.

Morgan met Squirt in 1988 when he was four months old. He came into our garage and fell asleep in her bed. She took that as an answer to a prayer, and they’ve been together ever since. He arrived with a chewed-up tail, big feet, an endless appetite, and enough love to fill the town. We thought he was a stray, and he got his name when we asked him, “Whose squirt are you?” We soon found his owners, and they said we could keep him since he’d already moved in.

Although he says he can’t prove it, he must have some Maine Coon in him. The large paws and big heart are proof for us. He likes to watch Tom & Jerry cartoons and to have his fur brushed, but his favorite pastime is to spend romantic moments with his “tasty morsel of love”
