Last Friday my 6 year old boxer had acute symptoms of head tilt to the right with right leg weakness when climbing only, off balanced, and difficulty seeing. Appetite good along with bowel movements and urination. The veterinarian I saw last Friday diagnosed vertigo. I’m concerned about the leg weakness could be caused by a cervical/neck problem. please advice.

Our 5 1/2 year old Rat Terrier has had an open sore on the front of one of his back legs between near the paw that we cannot treat successfully and heal for good. This has been an ongoing problem for over a year. We have had numerous tests done (allergy, blood, etc), tried medications, supplements, antibiotics, etc. We are now keeping a neck cone on him pretty much all the time but he manages to get out of it no matter how tight we’ve tied it (we are now afraid he s going to choke himself). We’ve tried wrapping the area but once he removes his cone when we re at work or during the night in his crate he tears at the wrap to the point that earlier this week he cut off his circulation during the night and the next morning his paw was over double its normal size. The other thing to mention, without the cone he constantly licks his front paws. We try to play with him, but now after a few minutes he lies down and licks. It was mentioned recently that he may have a personality disorder like compulsive obsessive behavior. Maybe he is obsessive but is our only option Prozac as was suggested? I can’t believe that there’s not another option that maybe we just haven’t found. We’re at our wits end and can’t spend too much more money trying to fix this when nothing we ve done has worked.

Hello, my Cat has been a few times to see you due to trouble urinating. He has had ultrasounds done and has bladder crystals, but was not “blocked” either time. He is having trouble again, but I cannot afford to have an ultrasound done and wondered if theres a way to tell without one if he is blocked? MORE >>
